TagsSummaryHis nose was tiny and defiantly upturned, and the way his eyelashes brushed his cheeks as he looked down at his book- wait, his book. Derek stopped, his fingers suspended in mid air. The man sitting next to him was reading the book Derek was currently on tour for. Derek scoffed and the man looked up at him. “Can I help you?” “Sorry,” Derek said, “I was just…admiring your book.” “Oh, yeah, Hale. You a fan?” Derek almost smiled. “I’ve read a few.” “He’s a little pretentious, don’t you think?"

TagsSummaryOrganising his space now, Derek felt ready to begin, and kicked-off stapling the first of the segmented chapters, the crunch of the stapler creating a reassuring rhythm for his ears. And there were over fifty chapters, so it was going to be a long few days, except about five staples in rather than that metallic crunch, it sounded empty, and the paper had no staple in it. Derek tried again, calmly, then a third time, because they always go on about how third times the charm, right? Except this time there is no charm. No charm and no hope. Bookmarked by Aurora_Arcobaleno05 Feb 2013 Bookmarker's Tags:Bookmarker's NotesDerek is an author with writer's block who is trying to write a zombie novel. Stiles is a total nerd, both in history, electronics, and zombies. Stiles stumbles upon the website Derek created for his book and ends up contacting him. They meet and an immediate bond is formed; Stiles helps Derek with details he needs for his book and Derek is inspired by his new found friendship with the other man. He powers out an awesome zombie book in which he made Stiles the main character.
Truthfully, I'd like to read an actual book about what Derek writes about. The scenes are vivid and interesting.

TagsSummaryIt’s not that the idea of Stiles talking about him doesn’t make his stomach wrap itself in knots, it’s that it does just that. It makes him unbelievably uncomfortable and he doesn’t quite know why. He’s twenty seven years old, he pays taxes, he takes his mother out for lunch on Sundays; he is a grown up. But he’s getting weird butterflies when he glances over his shoulder to look at Stiles and a heat in his chest that feels something like what he supposes want must feel like.

Derek nodded and watched the way he grinned, a wide, excited curve of his mouth before he was writing again. 'OMG I've read The Burning Year like six times' (AKA the one where Derek and Stiles' apartments are across from each other, neither know what curtains are, and they write each other notes via whiteboards) Series- Part 1 of You're in the Details

TagsSummaryAll Derek wanted to do was pull on a pair of pants, spend five minutes taking pictures of the Supermoon so Erica would stop bugging him about it, and then return to his cozy apartment to finish working on his book. He certainly never intended to meet his loud, obscenely attractive neighbor, while shirtless and wearing an old pair of slippers. Of course, Derek's life has never once gone according to plan. TagsSummaryDerek felt flustered. “I’m sure Derek Hale would be interested still, despite his reclusiveness,” he added. Stiles looked at Derek like there was something funny about him. “You’re pretty adamant about that,” he commented. Derek sighed some, “I just think someone like you would be a refreshing face and perspective for someone like Derek Hale to meet.” Stiles softly smiled at that. “Thanks,” he uttered. “But enough about me, what about you?” Derek felt flustered—again. He wasn’t sure if he should reveal it all there or wait it out. He liked the time he was spending with Stiles, but he was terrified of what would happen once Stiles knew the truth about him.

TagsSummaryNY Times bestseller Derek Hale hates a lot of things about being a modern author. Like being recognized, like needing a social media presence, like not being able to buy his own boxed spaghetti noodles without being asked for a selfie. Facing writer's block, he escapes to his old hometown of Beacon Hills, at his sister's insistence, for some reprieve and hopefully motivation. It's there his attention is captured by a gangly, socially awkward teacher, and the tiny little toddler at his side who know him only as that one basketball player who fled town at fifteen after his girlfriend burnt his house down.
