Azriel suddenly felt as if he had never seen a female before in his entire life.
As if the others were now so indistinguishable he couldn’t recall ever laying eyes on them at all. As if now that he had somehow stumbled across this singular, gentle, ethereal female, all of the others simply failed to exist.
He was, all at once, incredibly fucked.
Because in the simplest and most profound way imaginable, Azriel wanted her.
The sky began weeping again, as if it pitied him. Rain clung to her curls which clung to her incandescent cheeks and he couldn’t tear his eyes away from any of it. The delicate grace, the unprecedented beauty, the elegance of her clavicle, the impossibly gentle demeanor, the summer rain now bursting into full symphonies as it lavished her skin-
He was lost at sea.
She must have known. Because despite the rain, the smallest semblance of a smile graced her lips.
