Summary
With their universe on the brink of collapse and a desperate plan hatched that leaves Wanda vulnerable and alone, he finds himself volunteering to stand guard over the woman his former self loved. It is merely a logical decision, his synthetic body is the most impervious to the slow passage of time. If it also happens to provide him more than enough solitude to begin to piece together who he is and what his existence means, then that is simply an unintended benefit.
Inspired by Rory Williams' Last Centurion storyline in Doctor Who where he stood guard over Amy for nearly 2000 years.
