Summary
Kora had thought, deliberated even, about what the man called her father had ordered her to do. The young girl Balisarius finally said Kora was fit to watch was going to die, not by natural causes but by her own hand.
She knew she had to escape, to do what her mother would've wanted. It was after only a night that she formed a plan to leave her country with Issa, to let the adults so eager to destroy end it all so she could return in time with peace.
