Summary
Thalias leant back against the wall, and pressed forwards. “As we’ve already stated, nucleophiles, when presented with an electron-deficient carbon, will react to replace the group already attached to it. This is a substitution reaction, hence the name, nucleophilic substitution. I trust you don’t need that explained to you?”
“Thankfully,” Samakro snorted, “my intelligence figures a little bit above the point where that would be a problem.”
“Good.”
“Yeah.”
Thalias picked up the syllabus again, skimming through it with sharp eyes. “Can you give me an example of a nucleophile?”
Mid-Captain Samakro, first officer of the Springhawk, and its former captain before Thrawn had politely pulled his position out from under him, fell eerily silent at Thalias’ request.
Samakro is - to put it nicely - not very good at chemistry.
