“Oh my fuck—“ Kai clutches his chest. “Thank god, it’s just a ferret.”
“That’s not a ferret,” Taehyun says.
“No, Taehyun, that’s a ferret.” Kai, honest to god, doesn’t know how to emphasize the situation better than this.
“That’s not a ferret.” Taehyun sticks his finger out. The white monster hisses at it. “That’s Choi Beomgyu.”

Summary
It was a day that the world has long since forgotten, though Soobin has always remembered. The sky was overcast that day, he remembers, and Yeonjun had touched his cheek right there, and there had been a light in his eyes that Soobin had never seen before. He'd stood still. Yeonjun's hand had been cold. His eyes had been colder; that feeling when you look at a lake frozen over and see yourself, teetering at the edge, one misstep and it's over. Soobin had kept them warm. He likes to think he kept them warm for a long time.
(Or, Soobin and Yeonjun are called for these three tiny mortals—Beomgyu, Kai, and Taehyun. Yeonjun takes Taehyun. Soobin looks after Beomgyu and Kai. They love, and they remember.)
