I need to talk to you.
The text flashed across Kaz’s phone screen and his stomach leapt into his throat.
“I need to go,” he choked out, waving a hand to grab Oliver’s attention. “Cover for me. I need to go.”
“Kaz, what?” Oliver frowned, looking like Kaz skipped out on work all the time. To be fair, Kaz did skip out on just about everything else and leave Oliver to cover for him, but not Mighty Med.
“Oliver, I need to go,” Kaz stressed. “Like yesterday.” He leaned across where Oliver was sitting at the reception desk to grab the wormhole transporter. “Sorry,” he said, activating a wormhole and stepping through.
