Summary
Pete awoke to Vegas shifting in bed beside him. He took a few moments to blink the fog out of his mind before slowly sitting up. The room was dark and a glance at the clock on his bedside table revealed it to be the middle of the night. Vegas did not react to him moving, still asleep, but he could tell that his lover’s sleep was far from restful.
It was not unusual for Pete to wake in this manner. Vegas’s life left him with intense nightmares and he often awoke Pete with his night-time movements. Pete deliberated on what to do, Vegas hated the fact that his nightmares woke Pete, in fact he hated even admitting that he had them. If he woke Vegas, he would likely feel guilty and leave the bed for the night, but Pete hated leaving him to suffer.
He deliberated for a moment before settling on a different tactic. What little Vegas had admitted to him about his nightmares meant that Pete knew that it wasn’t Vegas’s safety that was threatened in his dreams, but his, Macau’s or even baby Venice’s.Series
