Summary
The Accursed sleeps in Angelgard, because the Accursed is real. The knowledge is passed down through Kings and Queens - a prophesy of a darkening sky, the Accursed awoken and able to command armies of daemons with a charmed voice that cannot be disobeyed, and a King of Light who will vanquish it and bring the sun back to the world. The prison on Angelgard is real, sealed with ancient chains and the royal seal of Founder King himself.
(The one in which the Accursed is cursed with a charmed voice he can't control, but that's okay because Cor can't hear him anyway.)

Regis receives word from his lost son. Ignis and Gladiolus disobey orders. Cor is exasperated. Megumi is afraid to see his old friends again, because he won't be the Noctis they remember. Prompto will be with him no matter what.Years of absence have changed nothing for Gladio and Ignis. They just want the opportunity to stand by their Prince again, no matter what name he's going by right now. They... perhaps pick the wrong way to go about it. But Noctis is just happy his entire Retinue is here with him.
Ardyn gets to bully the newcomers though, just a little bit. As a treat.

By his side is the ever faithful Ignis Scientia and Gladiolus Amicitia. Rumor has it that the Izunia gang is trying to move in, to take the territory that they had fought long and hard for. With Lunafreya of the Nox Fleuret gang on Noctis's side and Ravus wavering, Noctis knows he has to be prepared for the worst.
Meanwhile, Prompto Argentum is a prostitute, trying to survive from one day to the next. When he encounters Noctis, he is struck with a proposition that seems too good to refuse. When he accepts the offer, he anticipates that his life will change just enough to give him the chance to get out of the life and go somewhere far from the city. Little do they both know, their lives are going to be irrevocably altered, giving them an opportunity to heal the wounds of the past or die trying.
