Summary
“We all love that you express yourself, but if you can’t learn to separate fantasy from reality…”
Her mom’s words from earlier echo in Luz’s ears as she stares dejectedly at the sidewalk, waiting for the miserable bus that’s going to take her to the unending doom of Reality Check summer camp.
Fine. It’s true that she’s weird. It’s true that she has no friends. It’s true that she might be a little too obsessed with fictional worlds. But while she might constantly yearn for her magical desires to manifest in real life, one thing is clear: Luz Noceda has a perfectly fine ability to separate fantasy from reality, and she isn’t ashamed of getting lost in her own head, letting her fantasies run wild.
Then, she stumbles into the Boiling Isles—a world that feels like fantasy but is reality, one that starts getting realer and realer by the day. Can she handle the realization of her wildest dreams? Or is her ability to separate fantasy from reality truly slipping away? And just why is she starting to feel like these thoughts, desires, and experiences aren’t her own anymore?
(Work Status: unfinished and still updating! As of now, there's just a bit of a prologue/character study of our lovely protagonist)
