Summary
“I don’t want to be anyone,” William insists on the first full day there, frustrated with the whole thing, terrified, vaguely constipated from all the rich food they’ve been throwing at him. “I want to be invisible.”
Mal leans back in his seat as he shouts, a careful look coming over his face. For a moment William is terrified he’s finally said the wrong thing, stood up for himself in a way that will lead to humiliation, but instead Mal just sits there, clearly thinking. The other man pauses, then nods, then smiles.
“I do believe,” he says, “that perhaps we can work with that, William.”
