Summary
To the greater masses of the galaxy, humans were seen freakish orc-like monsters in terms of intelligence and strength. They possessed peripheral vision, towered over most alien species and could consume deathly poisons, such as caffeine and chocolate. They were aggressive, baring their teeth and making direct eye contact when first approached. They could not speak Basic, chattering in nonsense screeches and shouts.
This perception was hardly helped by the fact that galaxy's first introduction to humans were ones that were abducted and trafficked by an alien empire that lived entirely on their space-faring vessels, drifting from one end of the galaxy to the other. Abused, traumatized humans who were desperate to escape and survive by any means possible. Or yearning to be understood, treated as a sapient being worthy of respect and recognition.
Janus was once the latter kind. Until he gave up any and all pretense to be understood and treated as anything but a wild creature, tamed through jolts of electricity and food deprivation.

Summary
Roman's shoulders sag. "They're doing it again."
Ah.
Patton and Janus are…bonding, let's say. Well, no, they're not, that is expressly what they are not doing right now, but they're trying to. The problem is, they're trying to find sneaky little ways to get the other to admit they're not doing all they good to allow for said bonding, often in the form of getting them to admit they're doing something wrong or they've done something wrong. And hey, would've you know it, the best way to do that is to find something that they've both screwed up and passive-aggressively throw it in each other's faces until the sun explodes.
Well, actually, it's until one of them leaves in a huff, but it might as well be until the sun explodes.
The real problem is that the thing both of them have consistently fucked up the most is how they treat his brother.

Look, okay, if you grew up with the embodiment of Deceit as the closest thing you had to a parental figure, you would also be very good at listening for hidden secrets whispered in the middle of the night. Let alone have your psuedo-brother trying to put bear traps where he thinks you'll step into them.

Summary
The rundown is a dangerous place. Hostile creatures lurk around every dark corner, infectious fog seeps through the lower levels, and the reactors are just as likely to end your life as they are to save it. It is not a place for the faint of heart.
When Virgil's team is assigned a lab tech who's never had so much as a basic field test, he's against it. Vehemently.

Summary
Virgil was a fairly solitary person outside of his tiny friends and the occasional necessary interaction with other fae beings, notably the ones with whom he traded his expertly woven and hand-dyed spider silk cloth. He generally avoided humans as a rule; why voluntarily put yourself among people who tended to shriek and yell and throw things or attack at the sight of you? But when a human kit barely old enough to walk stumbles through the webs around his clearing one cold winter morning, well, Virgil was hardly going to leave the poor thing to freeze to death. Now if only people would stop assuming he wanted to eat it!
Or, Arachne!Virgil adopts a human toddler, much to the confusion of his faerie neighbors.

Six students. One school project. Endless invisible struggles.
Thrown together for a competition called The Future of Humanity, each of them hides fears, insecurities, and a sense of not belonging. Logan feels like an outsider, Virgil wants to disappear, Janus shields himself with wit, Patton masks pain with cheer, Roman pushes to perfection, and Remus teeters on chaos.
As they clash, stumble, and slowly open up, they discover that the project is more than a test — it’s a chance to be seen, to belong, and to create something bigger than themselves. In the process, they learn that the future of humanity might just start with finding each other.

Summary
In the Kingdom of Amaranth, sentient and sapient beings within the country's borders have all the rights and attendent responsibilities of a citizen of Amaranth... regardless of species. This also means they have the same protections, as Sir Virgil of Stormhold would be quick to remind anyone who thought otherwise. When Lord Emile of Drake's Hollow sends for a Knight of the Realm to assist in sorting out "a minor territorial dispute" with a dragon witch, Virgil arrives too late to prevent tragedy, but not too late to save a life and see justice done... and gains a family along the way.

Summary
Sometimes, bad things happen for good reasons. This was something that Virgil heard quite a lot. Whether it was an inspirational message from his close friend, Patton, or a midnight talk with his moms after shed tears, he’d heard it all before. He just couldn’t understand how there could be a good reason for being shoved against a locker with a dumb jock towering over him.

Summary
Logan Croft was certain that the trappings of romance were wholly unnecessary for the social compatibility experiment known as dating. To prove it to his friends, Roman and Remus Kingsford, he agrees to ask out the next person to come through the doors to the courtyard from the cafeteria... who just so happens to be the emo skater king of Sanders High School, Virgil Delaney.
Virgil is just trying to get through his last year of high school while working to afford a shitty apartment and food to take care of his little brother Thomas. He doesn't have the time or energy for a relationship, despite his best friend Patton Morales worrying that he'll be lonely now that Patton is dating their other friend Janus Atea. To ease Patton's worries, Virgil promises to agree to a date with the next person who "works up the courage to ask for a date, but not a hookup".

Summary
Thomas and the Sides have left Vault 24, where they woke up to discover that Thomas's entire life had been a simulation. The sides are real, physical beings, clones who've been altered with various means and DNAs for reasons they still don't totally understand. Thomas is human, but still connected to his Sides in a psychic capacity, for better or for worse.
Now they're in the Mojave Desert, trying to find a way to fix the broken simulation-housing servers of the Vault so they can go home. But you know what they say about post-war America.
Thou Shalt Get Sidetracked By Bullshit Every Time.
(This is the second work in the series, I recommend reading the first work if this one intrigues you. Because Thomas and the Sides don't know anything about the world of Fallout, the fic is framed in a way that's friendly to reader who don't know anything about it either!)
