> Poe invites Ranpo over for a quiet evening of tea, sweets, and a single peony meant to brighten the night. He worries that Ranpo will find the simplicity of it underwhelming, but it turns out that it’s exactly what the clever detective needs. As they settle into the peaceful atmosphere, unspoken feelings begin to surface, and their connection deepens in a moment of quiet confession.
“What’s with the flower, then?” he asked, his voice cutting through the quiet. “Not your usual setup for our tea, I’d say.”
Poe cleared his throat, caught off guard by the question. He had expected Ranpo to be distracted by the sweets or the tea itself, not to focus on the flower. “Peonies,” he began, his voice soft but steady, “they’re supposed to represent good luck and companionship. I thought… I thought it might suit us well tonight.”

They watched about half of the absolutely sappy and mind-bogglingly boring romance movie Poe picked out when Ranpo finds himself dozing off for the third time. Really, neither of them had followed the storyline at any point during the movie and honestly, the cake had been the only and best part so far, but that’s only because Poe is sitting approximately five metres away from him, nervously checking the clock every few seconds.

Go away Poe thought as he groggily shifted his head on his desk.
Knock knock
Ugh Poe thought as he opened his eyes. He rose his head off the desk to stare at the blank computer screen. I guess I'm encountering another writer's block he thought. And I was suppose to have another mystery ready for Ranpo.
Knock knock
Who is that? Poe pushed back on his chair and stood up. He exited his work room and walked towards the front door. He opened the door and came face to face with Ranpo.
Summary: Poe is woken up by Ranpo who is escaping from the drab paperwork being done at the Agency and wants Poe to entertain him. Ranpo ends up inviting himself to sleepover at Poe's apartment which is completely cool with Poe...who's not freaking out...at all.
The fic is better then the summary.
