“And then what? You’re gonna outpace me?” Arms crossing over his chest, Quackity scoffs, visibly entertained. His hip bumps up against the driver’s seat door as he leans against Wilbur’s neatly-polished car without a care in the world. "You know the main event is a cash day, right? It'd be humiliating to lose out on.. thirteen, fourteen.. fifteen grand?"
Wilbur’s eyes seem to light up at the numbers, and he has to fight down a grin to keep his poker face. Quackity returns the expression.
The other racer's posture is casual, but it's filled with tension. Excitement? Anticipation? Anxiety? Alexis—not Quackity, the racer, but Alexis—can't get a single read on him in the slightest, save for the smile dancing on his lips. With a shrug, Wilbur feigns flippancy. His hands are trembling. "If it means I get to show you up, I'll gladly race you on a proper bet."
“Is that so, Wilbur?”
There’s no hesitation in the reply.

The taller male let out a humourless laugh, narrowing his eyes as his pupils shrunk, he seemed to be scrutinising the smaller boy. “That’s a lie, that is stealing but..you know, whatever helps you sleep at night,” he said with a mocking and sarcastic grin, tilting his head slightly as his gaze swept over Tommy. “What’s your name? Mines Wilbur. Wilbur soot.” he bowed dramatically as if he had just finished a theatre performance, his movements slightly stiff yet full of flourish.
Tommy deadpanned at the bow, clearly not impressed by it. “…Tommy,” he said, hesitating for a moment before he took a deep breath and puffed out his chest as if trying to act confident, ignoring the ache of protest his wings did from being bound for what..six hours now? “Tommy Innit,” he said proudly, he did not feel as confident as he acted.

===>Note:<=== When I started writing this story years ago, Wilbur was featured as a scared 11 year old kid, nothing like his dsmp or cc, throughout every chapter. Upon the allegations and admittance to Wilbur becoming an abuser, I took a long break between chapter 36 and 37 in order to revamp the way I wanted this story to continued. In Chapter 38 he is effectively written out of the story and will remain that way until the end of the story where things will wrap up.
