Summary
After being convicted (once again) of petty theft, arson, and debasement of a beloved public statue, Eda Clawthorne is given a choice: Return to prison, or become a mentor to a young orphan in foster care for six months. Unwilling to rock an orange onesie, Eda reluctantly springs for the second option. Enter Luz, an eight year old with a troubled past and selective mutism, but a warm heart. Eda's guardedness slowly begins to erode as she becomes unable to imagine life without Luz. Mama!Eda, Adopted!Luz, Mute!Luz, Lumity. Rated for some allusions to past abuse.
