Summary
If personhood is blue, like tears and the sky and the eternally expansive ocean, then what it’d been before was green. It is similar enough. At first glance, it can even be mistaken as its previous form. Blue and green, what difference does it really make? Now, however, it is yellow. The stretch from green to yellow is plausible, if daunting. It really isn’t such a wonder that it ended up here, if one really thinks about it. Yet looking from blue to yellow, it is nearly imaginable to think that they’d ever been one and the same.
Maybe it’d never been blue at all. It’s possible, really. There is a chance that its whole life, it’d deluded itself into believing wholeheartedly that it was blue, when really, it had been green. How would it ever know otherwise? It has only its own knowledge, and it believes that that can be tainted without hesitation, even withheld from it. It has been done before.
