Summary
Psionics came easily to some. Others - not so much. Sharing such a small head could create a struggle for space.
Ten years post-Netherbrain crisis, Tav returned to Baldur's Gate. The Emperor might have been arrogant, condescending and forever restless, but he was the only illithid in the Western Heartlands to keep for company. Baldur's Gate had plenty to entertain Tav whenever lists and ledgers grew boring.
___
Vaguely normal story that devolved into a weird AU following my illithid Tav’s story 10 years post BG3. The Emperor has lost his mind stealth-operating the government while pretending to be the Duke of Baldur's Gate, and Tav is a feral illithid with a short patience for tentacled liars. They hate each other.
This is a story about resentment, LYING, and being stuck doing tedious jobs for an unhinged maniac, because who else are you gonna hang out and eat brains with?
Features a gradual power switch over time and petty mind games. Tav hates being told what to do. The Emperor is lying 50% of the time. The duke hangs around in the background in a state of constant mental anguish. It’s all very normal and fine.
