Severus took another sip from the bottle and handed it back to her.
"Is that what this is about? Coming to terms with eternal life?"
She swallowed the wine and finally turned to face him.
"Doesn't it drive you mad?" she asked. "We will mourn the death of each and every one of them, Severus."
He held her gaze, his face suddenly unreadable.
"Not ours," he said in a firm whisper.
"Not ours, no," she confirmed quietly.
"Nor Gad's," Severus added.
Omegas turned to him again. "Right," she murmured in surprise. "Nor Gad's. Shall we tell him?"
He nodded slowly. "It stands to reason that sooner or later it's just going to be us. You, me, and the boy."
He could feel Omegas' gaze fixed on him and sensed a sly smile spreading across her face.
"You like the boy," she accused.
"I don't like him," he replied immediately.
"You love him."
"I don't... love him," he snapped.
She laughed—a happy, genuine laugh, the kind he hadn't heard in days.
"Just you, me, and the boy," she repeated. "You know what?"
She turned, waiting for him to meet her gaze.
"What?" he asked.
She smiled. "I think it'll be worth it."Series

*please be aware that I am a student in college and although I am working on this fic and trying to update somewhat frequently, I have a lot of work and can't commit too much time to this fic. I will say, however, I am really loving what I have written/outlined and 100% plan on finishing this :)
