Summary
Soukoku, devastating rivals, a demon and a god, two bodies that share a singular soul, practically bound together by fate (maybe a little manipulation on Dazai's part). Dazai has never felt much of anything. Or rather, he doesn't know how to regulate, understand, or express his feelings, while Chuuya feels every one of his emotions 10 fold, never quite catching a break. His mood can switch up so fast that he himself cannot process what caused it. Neither of the two see humanity in themselves, for one reason or another, but that doesn't stop them from seeing humanity in each other. Chuuya is the most expressive person that Dazai has ever known, he radiates raw, human emotion and brings life to every room, at least from Dazai's perspective. It's no wonder that Dazai became so fixated so quickly on Chuuya, wanting nothing more than to provoke him, to drag out and experience that emotion through his partner, negatively or positively. Dazai does not realize that his obsession has turned into something more, something overwhelming, something uncontrollable. The feeling becomes so heavy in his chest that he is unable to ignore it any longer, and once he recognizes what it is, he is bombarded with another feeling--disgust.
