“Why?” Theo finally asked after a few seconds of silence.
“You told me to do what I want and what will make me happy, I've been told so many goddamn times today that tomorrow isn't guaranteed. So, I can go to Prom alone and be sitting there wondering who exactly Theo I-don’t-know-your-second-name is or I can spend it with you, figuring exactly that out.” Liam explained, his hands felt clammy and sweaty suddenly at the thought that he had just made one big fool out of himself and scared Theo off.

He cuts off, yelping, as Theo reaches forward and hauls him over the desk. He stares up at Theo, wide-eyed, as Theo twists his fingers just that much harder in his collar, and asks, sweet, “What beta?”

This is an alternate universe fantasy fic where the events of the show happened somewhat similarly in this medieval Beacon Hills setting. Werewolves are known, and supernatural creatures rule the Kingdom of Kali, where the small town of Beacon Hill sits at the border. After Scott’s pack destroys a fear inducing monster, the Queen asks him to travel to the capital city in hopes of finding a notorious murderer who's been terrorizing her city for the last couple of months. Scott is spread thin, searching for those who turned on the citizens of Beacons Hill and have fled to the neighboring kingdom, he is unable to come to the capital himself. He sends his beta, William (Liam Dunbar) and although reluctant at first, Theodore (Theo Raeken) volunteers to go. Werewolf and Chimera travel to the capital city, where they meet the Queen and the Princes Consort to put a stop to the attacks happening in the city. Faced with the city of his birth, Theo must fight buried monsters while Liam learns a terrible truth: Theo might not be as bad as he had once thought
