Summary
A gleam catches Daniel's eye and his head whips around, Louis's fifty-year-old programming kicking into gear. Bright young reporter, point of view, find what's wrong. He crawls forward, not trusting himself to stand up yet, his legs as shaky as a colt's.
He has to pick one up to really be sure, running his thumb over the sharp point. It's bigger than he expected, the part that's usually hidden in the gums exposed to the air, but still pretty damn small. Blood drips between his fingers as he watches himself lift it to his lips, placing it gingerly on his tongue.
