Summary
When the Watchers' Council is unable to agree upon where The Slayer is most needed, they resolve to let fate (in the guise of Buffy's mom) decide, positioning Watchers and resources at demonic hotspots around the globe. Naturally second string Watcher and legendary screw-up Rupert "Ripper" Giles (with his history of rebellion, demonic possession, kinda-sorta-justifiable homicide, and frequent head injuries) gets sent to the unlikeliest backwater to barely make the list: Sunnydale, California. So when Buffy Summers actually does enroll in Sunnydale High, it cannot be denied that there's a reason why she's here and a reason why it's now. But as a Buffy fan, that's the story you already know. How are things different this time? This time Giles is possessed by an incubus! Or... erm... well... part of him is. How does that change things? Let's watch.
