This is completely soft and naive fanfic, easy to read, if you look for something nice to put your heart at ease for a few moments, this is your choice, it's a short one-shot, of words unsaid, and so many feelings that could make the hardest of the characters down on them. With a special appearance of our favorite Geo-Dad to make everything even softer.

Red, a color most found beautiful - a rose blooming in the sun, a cardinal flying by the window, a juicy apple freshly picked - but Xiao was not one of them. The cursed color haunted his life day in and day out. No matter where he went it followed him like a ghost, terrorizing his life and forcing him to distance himself from others. Xiao *hates* the color red, the sight of it alone enough to make him sick, and so he does his best to avoid it. Normally it's easy to keep himself away from humans and therefore their blood, but an already lonely heart that misses the warmth of the sun is weak when the sun smiles so brightly at it.

He is certain he will starve and fade, chained by his immortality to a life of unending agony, unable to even put himself to rest— until he meets a lost and achingly gentle adeptus who brings him new hope.
It will be a long time before either of them learn how to receive the love they are given.
