Summary
Hannibal makes a promise to Mischa before she dies to take care of their new baby brother, Adam. They end up in America, where Hannibal goes to medical school. Nigel and Will can't wait to get out of their alcoholic father's house when Will gets accepted to Georgetown.
I love stories where Will and Adam are brothers, and they meet Hannibal and Nigel, also brothers. I thought it would be fun to switch them around and pair them by demeanor rather than looks. I only meant to type up a prompt, but it grew in detail as I was writing it. If anyone wants to write a full fic around this premise, I'd love to read it!

Summary
This is an immediate follow-on from lovetincture’s Shelter Us, Harbor Me. As in, it picks up three seconds after that story ends. I don’t know how much sense this story will make if you haven’t read it. You should if you can. It is brutal and beautiful.
Nigel has to navigate life with Adam, Will, and Hannibal. He tries to figure out how to get Adam out of there without getting either of them killed. It doesn’t help that Adam wants to stay. Still, they manage to find bright places.
This story splits from the Way Down In The Everyone Gets There series at the end of Shelter Us, so Sharpen Your Teeth and Better View of the Rising Moon aren’t part of this timeline.

“Don’t you dare,” Will says, crouching, hand that is not currently cradling an overly large pour of whiskey pointed at the bird to ward it off.

After Hannibal is arrested and the trial dates are set, the stork visits Will Graham. With it, it brings a baby, a legally binding birth certificate, and a hope chest full of gifts for her. Nobody except Will thinks this is weird.
(Alternatively, what if the Scarlet Letter was a dark romantic comedy?)
