‘One night, he’s sitting by the fire, puzzling over a title for their last case (a six at least, possibly a seven, man suspected his wife was cheating, please investigate, involved the Russian mob and some funny business with what appeared to be a porn site). Rain beats against the windows, large drops that seem as big as John’s hands as they splash down on the streets of London. Sherlock is plucking absently at the strings of his violin; the quiet dink, dink, dink is nearly drowned out by the lashing rain.
“Anything you’d like to hear?” He asks.
John shrugs. “Surprise me.”’In which John loves Sherlock, and Sherlock loves John, but neither of them is quite sure how to broach the subject. Things go bad, and then they go good again.
