  Summary

  After escaping the queens’ brutal crusade against animus dragons, Hoatzin never planned to be a hero—let alone a leader. Plagued by a strange voice that whispers secrets in his mind, he’s just trying to keep his ragtag group of fugitives alive: a jaded Sandwing thief, a Rainwing healer haunted by the past, a Skywing too naïve for his own good, and a voice leading him down a path with no clear horizon.

  But the voice is growing louder.

  And they can't hide forever.

  As they uncover ancient enchantments, broken sanctuaries, and dragons with secrets of their own, Hoatzin must decide what kind of leader he’s willing to become—and how far he’ll go to protect the few dragons he still trusts.
