Summary
Jared spends a lot of time watching the boy in class- who he quickly finds out is named Richard- from then on out, as he seemed like a very interesting person.
He notices the way Richard looks kind of young and boyish, speaking as if he was apologetic for everyone who had to hear his voice. He stuttered from time to time, words spilling out of him.
Richard's never wrong when he opens his mouth, although he certainly is often quiet. Slowly Jared became fond of Richard’s voice and presence.

With practiced ease Artemy cuts the ventricles free and lifts the heart from its cage. Still warm, he holds the prize out and for a moment he can pretend the pounding in his chest is coming from the organ he gingerly handles.
Slowly, Dankovsky reaches out to take it, eyes confused, evidently feeling the tension in the air. When the heart is held safely in his hands, Artemy squeezes his own eyes shut and for one moment lets himself wish.
He lurches forward and stands back up. Then he addresses the worms behind them: “Tell everyone it is done.”

Summary
{Bookshop AU} Jason purposely leaves a small leather bound notebook nestled on one of the shelves inside his favourite book store, in the hopes that a delightful patron will pick it up and follow the instructions inside. He doesn't expect to get much out of it beside the satisfaction of meeting a new friend in the weirdest possible way, but when said patron - Tim, apparently - picks it up and decides to leave Jason a challenge of his own, well, Jason's never been one to back down from a challenge.
