Peter drew his knees close to his chest, knobs of his spine digging uncomfortably into the wall behind him. He stared at his bedspread, at the little color he could make out in almost pitch black. He was tired. So, so tired. He could count on one hand the hours he’d slept the past week.
His shoulders twitched, curling further into himself. His breathing was shallow, joints aching with fiery burns. The bandaged wound on his side wailed for him to take proper care of it. To wash it; to actually attempt to give a shit.
He squeezed his arm harder down over the wound, trying to ignore the discomfort lodged between his ribs. It scratched at his bones, at his skin. He swallowed thickly, opting to ignore it instead.

Harry thought he’d seen it all. A boyfriend with some weird, fucked up spider DNA. A distinctly creepy father with little regard for lab safety practices and a shitton of vials of Insane Juice. Never, though, did he ever come to expect a goddamn zombie apocalypse.
Yeah, sure, it was New York. Superhero central. Nothing should seem too out of pocket anymore, should it?
Until the stupid disease rooted itself in some unfortunate souls’ bloodstream and proceeded to make itself known to the general public. Harry wouldn’t be surprised if Peter’s calculations were right. They usually were. The man had predicted that the world would be mostly zombies by the months’ end. It would’ve been great knowledge, if they knew what day it was.

If he thought for one more second and applied logic he'd realize Har can't feel much through those thick gloves. But every minute task feels arduous. The bob of his Adam's apple struggled as he gulped. Not one part of him was functioning correctly. The snow melting on his cheek? Hardly noticeable with the heat spreading everywhere else.
