He had no idea how it had happened so fast and without him noticing it first, but the hoodies the guys had been wearing were now scattered all over the stage floor, and the identical white tank tops they had all been wearing were now coming off one by one. Shirt after shirt dropped to the ground, the longer the song continued.
The guys were still dancing just as skilfully as before, but now there was a clear switch in the atmosphere; every move had turned more sensual and outright sexy, the electricity and buzzing of the crowd matching the feeling the guys on the stage clearly were setting up with their performance.

Summary
Not even thinking about the time, he moves over to the Phone app and hits June’s contact before bringing the phone up to his ear with a shaky hand. He hadn’t even realized it started trembling again. It rings about four times before June answers, voice creaky. June has clearly been sleeping, and Alex only feels a little bad because the building panic wins out.
“Alex? What the hell? Is everything okay?” June asks when Alex doesn’t say anything, just breathes heavily into his phone’s mic.
“June.” His eyes well up with tears at the familiar voice. “I don’t know what’s going on.” Turns out he needs his sister in every fucking universe. Alex moves back toward the stove to work on the drink to distract himself as the kid watches him carefully. He knows where he’d keep the saucepans if it were up to him, so that’s the first drawer he tries, and sure enough.
There is rustling on the other side, June probably sitting up in bed. “Hey, can you tell me what’s happening?” Her voice is softer now than when she’d answered, the one she uses when Alex is really upset or spiraling into a panic attack. And maybe he is. Fuck.

There are a couple things in this world that are absolutely unbearable for Alex.
The sound of her parents fighting, for one. She still remembers it, the yelling, that is. It was always so loud that even headphones couldn’t cancel out the noise.
Another thing she cannot fucking stand is when people don’t know how to make good coffee. It’s not that fucking hard.
Thirdly, people not letting her explain herself. She fucking hates being blamed for things that she didn’t do without having the chance to defend herself.
There are a couple more extreme ones, such as racists, bigots, and outright assholes…
But one thing she can’t fucking stand at this particular moment is the snobby, blonde, British girl in her English class who always has her nose stuck in a fucking book.
