"My legs, Nicky— He took my legs." Nicky's breath stalled as he heard more about the dream that awoke Neil. "I should have just called my uncle. He would have helped, I should have called him!" The words came out smooshed together and barely intelligible, but Nicky caught the gist of his repeated mantra. "I didn't want to go, didn't—" Nicky's heart was in his throat as he petted over Neil's hair, the shorter man still gripping at his legs and crying into Nicky's neck. "I should have called him—" Mind whirling to last night, to everything that happened, from the crackers to Nicky kissing Neil to Neil then knocking himself out. No, this hadn't been a good night for Neil and it was partially Nicky's fault. He played a roll in the cracking down that was happening of Neil.
