Link was curled against a wall of the room that opened into another aisle, one hand fisted against a gash at his side, blood painting his face from a wound in his hairline. One blue eye opened and stared at her as she approached, stark against the crimson on his skin, but he didn’t speak, not even to greet her with “Your Highness” as he usually did upon seeing her. The only sound that emitted from his lips, in fact, was a faint and agonized groan.

Summary
This work uses the Wookieepedia definition of Star Wars Legends, i.e. everything that was considered canon before the timeline reset, including the first 6 seasons of The Clone Wars. I made this decision because I am more familiar with TCW than I am with CWMMP and I thought it would be easier for me to write it like this.
A few weeks after the death of Emperor Palpatine at the Battle of Endor, Mara Jade discovers a Sith holocron that has the power to send her back in time. Knowing only that Palpatine has commanded her to kill Luke Skywalker and that Luke is the son of Anakin Skywalker, she transports herself back to the Clone Wars to prevent Luke's birth by killing his father before he is conceived. Unbeknownst to her, the holocron's gatekeeper, an ancient Sith Lord who does not approve of the Rule of Two, decides to send Luke back with her to spite Palpatine. While Luke and the Jedi Council work in secret to stop Palpatine, Mara tries to help him accelerate his plans for galactic domination. But the more time she spends in the past, the more she realizes that she shouldn't believe everything she was taught about the Empire.
