A mermaid/siren prince named Rae meets some sailors that he loured in. He saved them instead of what sirens would normally do. on the ship he finds 2 sailors still alive. one who goes by Ghosty and the other by the name of Jamie. He gets to know them and becomes very close to them. Ghosty becomes a protector of the prince as he is next in line for king. There are always people on the hunt for mermaids and mermaids looking to take out the royal family. Becoming close to humans can draw more attention to his kind- and when jamie lets it slip to their friends they found a mermaid... Raes life gets flipped upside down.
