And yet, even as different as the circumstances may be, fate has a funny way of making itself known, regardless. The actors may change, but the play will always go on. -

Summary
It has been a year since the Phantom Thieves saved the world from yet another mad god in the form of a rampant AI. As is tradition, the group of friends plan a big trip for the summer, this time flying over to the US capital of Washington, D.C. to see the sights and have a good time. Even better when they find out that their newest honorary member, Zenkichi, is also called there as part of a working vacation, as a token bit of assistance to the local police on the Payday case.
None of them know just how dire a situation the Payday gang are currently in, nor that their leader is currently being held hostage by a shadowy organization dead set on world domination. To make things worse, that organization is willing to stoop to any level, even dabbling into cognitive pscience, to do so.

In the aftermath of the Cascadian War of Independence, a certain reservist pilot is enjoying a night to herself after divorcing her good-for-nothing husband. While she's thinking about where to take her life from here in the midst of uncertain global events, a certain former DJ also arrives at the bar.
Meanwhile, a certain mercenary backseater tries to relax following the nightmare of a war, and has a date lined up with a certain disgruntled IT specialist. She also brought her closest friend and pilot to assist. -
