Seven years after losing his husband, Will Graham is working as a BRIDGES Porter to support himself and his daughter, Abigail. On his first real non-local order, he ends up injuring himself whilst traversing the snowy mountains and woods outside of Mountain Knot city.
A stranger finds him and takes him in, tending his injuries and keeping him warm. The man’s cabin is dark, and Will’s vision is messy, from a blow to the head - He can’t see his rescuer’s face.
But somehow, something about this stranger feels familiar to him.

When they encounter an intense chiral storm on their latest delivery, they nearly meet their ends on the edge of a mountain, but are saved unexpectedly by the recipient of the delivery- a reclusive man who lives in a shelter on the mountain’s peak, that somehow knows Will’s name.

Basically: Bill and Stan get caught in the rain after a date at the movies. Cuteness ensues. Characters are high school age here, at least juniors considering that Bill drives.
