Summary
Peter tilted his head back against the brick wall behind him and sank his teeth into his lower lip to hold back the building groan in his throat. The ten foot high retaining wall surrounded a private courtyard and they stood half hidden by trees but anyone passing by would see Peter--Spider-Man--getting railed in public in the middle of the night.
Peter's police scanner screeched feedback through his earpiece and he winced, bringing his hand up to his head to pull it out. When the sharp sound ended he relaxed and wrapped his arms around Wade's shoulders again.

“I think step one here’s just cutting the web,” offers Peter disaffectedly from a foldout chair a good fifty feet away, with a leg crossed over his lap. I do mean Peter, by the way. He showed up in his civvies. Like he expects to just sit around and watch me struggle. He’s not even watching me. He’s playing Tetris on a GameBoy Advance.
“You know, most villains don’t give me loading-screen tips on how to escape their traps."
He affords me a single glance over the top of his glasses, cool and indifferent. "They're worried you’ll do it.”
