Ian’s heart sped up tenfold, immediately jumping to his throat. He opened his mouth to say something, but only a choked breath came out. He coughed to attempt to hide his anxiety.
“Hel-Hello? What do you-”
Terry grabbed the gun that was in his holster and held the end of it right to the pulse point of Ian’s throat. A chill flew down Ian’s spine, his knees going weak. He almost collapsed, but managed to keep his posture upright.
“Where is he?”
“Mickey’s…out,” Ian breathed.
“Do you think this is some kind of fucking game?”

Mickey is at the store, and Ian is met by Terry at his doorstep.

Ian jumped. Not literally, but enough to wake up the little tyrant. Mickey was out. He was supposed to be out for…well for at least a while. That’s what he told Ian. Now he’s here. How long has he been here for?
“Hey, you,” he said to Ian, taking their baby girl out of Ian’s grasp. He made a sweetly silly face at her, causing her to relax a bit. He then looked back at Ian. “Didn’t know you were hosting a singing party over here. How long have you been at it, Red?”

I didn’t know what to title this, so I played on What’s Eating Gilbert Grape? based on Mike asking “what’s eatin’ ya?” to a visibly unhappy Peter.
