Harry might be the Master of Death, but Death very much had its own opinions about what was good for its Master. After dying from a mysterious illness contracted right after the war ends, Harry wakes up in a 1945 world where instead of working at Borgin and Burkes, Tom Riddle accepts a position at the Ministry of Magic as a Liaison to the Wizengamot. With the hope of living a boring life this time around, Harry assumes the identity of Hadrian Evans, and starts working as a Magical Forensics Analyst in the auror department to pay his rent. He should have known his life would never be normal the moment Tom Riddle entered the crime scene that winter morning.
