More often than not, it was mages she fled from, not being particularly interested in meeting the magic wielders face-on. There even were times when she had snuck out of windows to avoid being stoned by people who believed her to be a demon, sent straight from hell to torture the folk. It couldn’t be further from the truth – Cathleen wasn’t a demon, had never even seen one. Still, she had given up trying to explain that to the people who accused her. Running away was easier. And far less frustrating.
