Where is that hairbrush? I lean down and look under the table, not there. Did I put it in the kitchen? And… nope not there either.
“Savage, have you seen the brush?” The bedroom door opens and I dodge out the way of the brush that was flying towards me like a speeding bullet.
“Thanks bud!” I am not good at catching things.my eye caught itself in the mirror again as I started to lean down, it's wrong. Macaque's eye is meant to either be gold or purple. Why is it green? Odd…
Or: Someone from the real world wakes up in Macaque’s body and they are trying to deal with it while also looking after shadows.

"You got what you wanted, didn’t you? Not gonna gloat? Monologue a little bit before scurrying off to your master? Go on! The Lady Bone Demon is waiting.”
Macaque chuckled. “Is that what he said back then? You’re still mad? You and Macaque are so petty.” Macaque- no… Lady bone demon? Broke the fake rings, the hair flew away in the wind.
“What?” Nezha’s voice shook. “They were fake?!”
“Of course they were fake! You really think he would put on such a show if he had the real thing? Why would he let his one chance escape him when he is that close?” the being smiled down at Wukong. “He’s The Intelligent Stone Monkey. We all wear masks sometimes. Real ones are with the kid you overlooked.”
A golden beam of light shoots into the air. “The ritual? They’ve started the ritual! Sun Wukong, what’ve you done?!”
“I told them to wait!” The vessel takes a step forward. “Stop! If you hurt that kid, I’ll-”
“What? Kill the other one? I wouldn’t harm them intentionally. You don’t know who I am and yet you judge me.”

Summary
Macaque is not himself. They haven't been since the day they were revived. Now with new memories and two kids, they are determined to live long enough to see the end of the show even though they are terrible at taking and reading people.
The fact they constantly give off "bad vibes" does not help in the slightest.
