“You think I’d be hotter without the stupid mask?” Peter asks, grinning wide. The mask is, as usual, pushed up to expose his mouth, and that’s as much of his face Johnny’s ever seen. Well—as far as Johnny knows. Johnny sure doesn’t know that he’s seen Peter’s face many times, given he doesn’t know that Peter is Peter. “My eyes aren’t really this big, you know. Not as cute.”
“You can’t have a body like this and expect me to believe your face isn’t hot,” Johnny points out, eyebrows raised. “But hey, feel free to prove me wrong. Show me your ugly mug.”

Romantic love always changes, because you have to choose it: over and over and over again. That’s why its so spectacular. Romantic love is the purest form of free will, is the closest thing to paradise on earth that exists, with all the sharp edges and ephemeral beauty that it entails.
Familial love on the other hand is enduring. In some ways, it is fated. Chance, and not always choice. It lays the foundations to your life, even if you do not like or have ever even met your family. It’s not free will but it is forever.
