Summary
Everything was clean and ready; the bed was made up in the second room, fresh towels had been put in the guest bathroom, Steve had even brought some early spring flowers to brighten up the house.
Bucky made sure they had plenty of junk food and hot chocolate, Steve just shaking his head fondly and kissing his baby’s cheek.

A guest is coming to visit and Bucky can barely contain his excitement. In the midst of happy times and celebrations, however, there is still something dark hanging over Bucky’s head. Will Bucky be able to face it head-on and finally get away from his past?

Summary
A man wearing a light denim jacket over a dark blue shirt came into the shop, a box tucked under his right arm. Despite it being late afternoon, he was wearing sunglasses with bright blue lenses, and his long, dark hair was pulled back in a messy little bun. A few strands had escaped, framing his strong, unshaven jawline. The man looked into the café, smiled widely, and waved in Clint’s direction as he kept walking into the bookstore, and Steve’s mouth went completely dry.
Beautiful, was the only word to describe that smile; straight, white teeth framed by full, lush, red lips, bracketed by laugh lines and an adorable dimple in his right cheek, a charming little chin cleft just visible under the light stubble—Steve was struck literally speechless. And that was before he got a glimpse of the man’s backside. Slim hips and a round, firm-looking ass led to long, lean legs that were encased in snug, dark blue jeans.
“Guh,” Steve said, watching the dark-haired man continue on to the back of the store.

The sad, hangdog expression on Steve’s face was confusing Tony to no end. “Why are you here?”
“I needed to see you,” Steve said. “I needed to try and explain what happened, and to apologize.”
Tony’s arm fell to his side, the repulsor powering down, as he looked at Steve in bewilderment. The door opened wider and he stood there, watching the man in front of him. “Why would you even bother?” he asked softly.
“Because it’s important that you know the truth.”
Tony has escaped back to the West Coast, trying to distract himself from the pain of Steve's betrayal, only to have the man himself show up at his front door.

Every time Steve looked at him with those beautiful blue eyes, Bucky felt a shiver down his spine. It truly wasn’t fair; one tiny quirk of his eyebrow, a slight upturn to his lips, and Bucky was a puddle of quivering goop at Steve’s feet.
Why should he deny himself? It was his birthday, dammit!
It was his twenty-seventh birthday, and they were at the Tower, and all of their friends were there, upstairs, in Tony’s apartment, celebrating…with…them.

“What’s up, Stevie?” Bucky asked quietly, a little flutter of worry moving through his chest. “You seem nervous.”
He huffed a laugh. “I am. I don’t know why I am, but I am.” He finally set the book aside entirely, putting it on the nightstand. “I wanted to talk—to ask you—do, um, do you remember the first time we were together?” he asked, now fiddling with the hem of his t-shirt.
Bucky put his book away also, and turned onto his side to face the big blond. “Of course, I do,” he said softly, smiling.
“When we were…getting started,” Steve said, turning his head in Bucky’s direction but not meeting his eyes, “I asked you how long it had been since you’d…done anything.”
“I remember,” Bucky said with a grin, feeling relieved as he could see where this conversation was heading. Steve’s cheeks were definitely getting redder.
“Well, you said it had been a long time, but that you had—that you had used a, uh, a toy.”

A normal Wednesday evening at home, and Steve has been feeling curious.
Lucky for him, Bucky has all the answers he needs.
