In the wake of the loss of their father, the brothers struggle to find their balance. Especially Mikey.
“When Mikey was younger, less strong and even more childish, he could always run to his big brothers for comfort. Donnie’s reassurance and soft embrace calming Mikey’s tears, or Leo holding his smaller frame, tracing shapes into his shell, or Raph’s gruff but soft words and protective hug, ready to fight anything that hurts his baby brother. Mikey always felt safest in the arms of his brothers.
Now though, when a nightmare seizes his chest and constricts his breathing and his head reels, he has to bear it, crying into his pillow and stuffed animals, rather than risk annoying his elder brothers.”
