Summary
in the frozen hell of the wilderness, Natalie just wants to survive. Misty just wants Natalie. What starts as fascination curdles into something sharper under the relentless pressure, culminating in an act that should tear them apart. Instead, it becomes the first crack in Natalie's armor, leading down a confusing path of denial, reluctant care, and a secret language spoken only between them.

Summary
The sight of Natalie prowling around her kitchen, half-dressed and sleep-rumpled, is enough to stop her in her tracks. She looks so comfortable moving around Misty’s home that Misty can almost imagine she has always been there. Just as much a fixture of the house as the leaky bathroom faucet or the wainscoting in the dining room.

Summary
“How did it go? Did you forget your keys again—oh, sweetie.” And it's a testament to how much they've grown and changed over the years. Nat from ten years ago—shit, six years ago if she's honest with herself—would have recoiled at the perceived pity in Misty’s tone; would have lashed out and stormed off. But twenty-seven year old Nat? She’s so exhausted, so done with feeling like a sentient mistake, and Misty is looking at her like she’s trying to syphon her pain away through sheer will power alone, barely restraining herself from pulling her in. Well, Nat has long been out of the business of depriving herself of comfort.
