So here they were; sitting on the cold floor, squeezed against each other, talking as if they weren’t being held by some lunatic. As if they weren’t uncertain if they would even make it out alive. As if Kara’s heart wasn’t getting any weaker every minute from the kryptonite exposure. Because Lena knew; she knew that if they didn’t get out of here in the next hours and if Kara didn’t get any sunlight, the odds of surviving this were… let’s say not in her favor.

Lena is worried sick when Kara runs late. She knows she shouldn't be but she can't help it. So when Kara finally does get home, they have a big heart to heart. Lena needs therapy. This is as close as she'll ever get to a session.

“Do you want to break it off?” there was no judgment in her voice just pain, heartbreaking and pure pain.
God no she didn’t want that. Christ, Kara was probably the love of her life.
Lena knew she wanted to stay with Kara for as long as she would have her, but somehow at that moment she couldn’t get any words out. She knew she had to say something, anything but she couldn’t. God only knows why.

And now the woman she cared for most in the world, stood as pale as a sheet, with wet hair sticking to her forehead in the middle of her office. And Lena knew. She watched her exhaust her powers yesterday against that stupid alien. She knew the blonde woman was rendered close to a human now. She knew she could get hurt. Actually get hurt and that made Lena want to send her home immediately, home where she would be safe. Except that it was too late.
“Kara please” Lena almost begged “Please tell me where you’re hurting.”
