Jaehyun's heart was racing.
No one ever talked to him like this—not Jaehyun, youngest son and only omega of the elite and prestigious Jung family—especially not people he just met. They were always coos and praises, an overenthusiastic amiability as though they had been old friends. So determined to flatter him, to win his favor, to win his family's favor, as though Jaehyun's approval might somehow brush some of his status off on them.
Doyoung had his professional expectations laid out for him plainly and genuinely did not seem to care if Jaehyun liked him on a more personal level.
It took him a couple seconds to process just how he felt about this exactly, and oddly enough… it felt exhilarating.

It happens fast, but somehow, Doyoung feels like he’s seeing it in slow motion. The massive arm moving in the direction of his face, too fast to allow Doyoung any reaction but the quick panic at the base of his throat — and then it’s colliding, and there’s pain. A lot of it.
“Oh my God, Doyoung—” He sees Taeyong, waving his hand in front of his eyes until Doyoung can focus on his image, hovering over him. “Are you ok?”
“I think he broke his nose.” Jaehyun curses, somewhere out of sight. “We might have to take him to the hospital, shit—”
“Is he ok?” Someone else is saying. “I— I swear I didn’t see him, I was moving my arms and—”
Doyoung is starting to understand what might’ve happened, and it only takes one light touch under his nose to see that he’s bleeding. It hurts to talk and his voice sounds weird, but he does so anyway. “You have to be kidding me.”

“Fine, let’s bet,” Ten knows how to rile Doyoung up, Taeyong who was barely paying attention to this conversation chuckled because he, too, knows that Doyoung never rejects a bet, “what about our netflix subscription? You’re paying for it for the next 10 years if you fail to get that sweet sweet green card in the next 6 months.”
Doyoung huffed, “fuck you. Fine,” he turns to Jaehyun, “we’re getting married.”
“Sure, baby.”

“That’s ridiculous.” When Jaehyun just stares at him wide-eyed, Doyoung is compelled to continue. “This trip is expensive. I’d grumble in hatred in therapy if we don’t get refunded.”
“And? What else have we learned?” Not the royal we. That’s for children, and Doyoung is a rational adult.
Jaehyun and Doyoung go on a vacation as a testament of their friendship. If they argue every moment then that’s on them.

Also, his sly nature and the way he seemed to not take Doyoung seriously, like, ever.
