When Hitoshi opened his eyes that morning, he knew today was going to be rough. He knew he should’ve just closed his eyes, pulled the covers over his head, and gone back to sleep.
It was going to be one of those days.
And even if he felt like shit, and his brain decided to be his enemy today, Hitoshi wasn’t actually ill, so he stumbled out of bed and tugged his uniform on with even less grace than normal. Scrubbing a hand through his hair and breathing deeply to stave off the pounding, useless anxiety in his veins, Hitoshi pressed a kiss to his mom’s cheek as he slipped out without breakfast and without a word.
