Random idea draft one:
Yuu Sacrificed.
It wasn't common, but time to time a unsortable student would come along to NRC.
None from another world after the first time, and no one like Grim.. but it still happened.
And they were given a space at Ramshackle to stay in, learning whatever odd magic made them stand out!
Most the time.. those students were the only ones in there. always only one or if they are lucky two at a time.
Crowley's antics always got them to interact with people so sometimes they end up with some friends similar to how Yuu had Ace, Deuce, The others and ofc Grim!.. not the same, ofc.. but Yuu was lucky.

Summary
There are many alternate universes, yet people never seem to think about living in more than one at all times. Thats the easiest way to explain Yuu's life, Yuu doesn't believe they are alive, Yet just the fact they can think that means they are! They know of the players, they know of the other worlds.
They never say anything about it. Maybe they doubt they can, maybe they HAVE tried, maybe they feel.. content.
but it never lasts long in Twisted Wonderland, no matter what type of MC, empty shell or not- Chaos won't leave ANY Yuu alone, even if it goes against Yuu's original game code, I mean.. that only really matters if you're ONLY a game. -
