"Hanguang-Jun!" His voice came out a touch hurried, and the words themselves felt almost painfully vulnerable. The rush of emotion was an uncomfortable one, and Jiang Cheng steeled himself against it, forcing his posture to straighten, drawing himself into a semblance of professionalism.
"I—misunderstand your opinion of Wei Wuxian," he began, his tone more clipped now, striving for control. "You have always despised my brother. Yet… yet, when I saw you just now, why did you appear as you did? Answer me!"
There was an edge to his voice, a mixture of frustration and confusion, though he would never admit it aloud. Despite the fire that burned in him, there was something far deeper, far more complex in the way his heart trembled beneath his outward composure.
“My feelings on the matter are none of your concern.”

Summary
This is an idea that occurs after Wei Wuxian's death, and Hua Cheng meets him. Hua Cheng takes a liking to him, asking him about his life beforehand, and why he is not visiting those who are ghosts as well. Wei Wuxian explains to him that the closure he was seeking was not worth what he had done to them and refuses to see them.
Although he asks Hua Cheng for a favor, "Please let them see their family one final time..." So Hua Cheng gives his wish to Jiang Cheng. Also letting Lan Xichen and Nie Huaisang see Nie Mingjue once more.
Hua Cheng stresses to Wei Wuxian that it is not a problem to see anyone he knows in the living world. He also wonders why Wei Wuxian doesn't make use of this opportunity. The young man simply explains, "No, I doubt the creator of demonic cultivation would be missed."

Summary
Wei Wuxian had everything planned out. He would slip away in the night, and no one would have to deal with him again. Madam Yu would be glad to see him gone, and Jiang Cheng would finally be treated like their son. The Lan sect wouldn't have to deal with his antics anymore. He wouldn't have to live with the burning hatred for himself curling in his stomach like a beast preparing to rip him apart from the inside out.
He thought he had everything planned out, until a figure in white made him pause. Who was this Lan Wangji, and why was he so adamant about keeping Wei Wuxian alive?
