He doesn’t know a thing about what Will survived, just the bits and pieces that float around town like the rumors that usually concern the exponentially more menial. Someone’s grandma died. Some senior turned up pregnant.
Steve inhales, sharply. Thinks about who he was before and after Denver. Thinks about who everyone expected him to be. His mouth opens before he can consider if he wants to stop it. “You know, my name’s not really Steve.”

In this au Finney and Gwen got taken away from their dad and separated after adoption.
Finney was taken by the Harrington family and forced to change his name. He lost connection with his sister up until she dreamed his number and called him. After working at Scoops Ahoy for an annoyingly long amount of time he had finally made enough money to visit his family... Only to find out Gwen tricked him to try to convince him to go to alpine lake camp. he begrudgingly agrees and is forced to revisit his once buried trauma to save his sister, returning to Hawkins 3 weeks later than planned and high... oops.title from Coma, big thief.
