He can't get his claws out in time, too busy listening to the ringing in his ears as Morph shifts. It's a sight he's seen a lot, but it feels grotesque to watch now. There's no flourish, no showmanship; it lacks the crooked grin and playful energy that Morph always has when they transform, the feeling that they always seem to get a kick out of changing shape even in serious situations.
A sense of deja vu hits him square in the gut, and then Luke Cage's foot hits him square in the chest.
He flies back a few feet before he digs his heels into the floor and skids to a stop.
Christ. Get ahold of yourself, Howlett.
